One of the primary functions of The Gate is worship. Worship is our primary calling and we were created to worship God. We enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. He is enthroned on the praises of His people. Worship is a time for the Church to lift one voice to be heard by an audience of One! Worship includes prayer and intercession. He hears our voice as we seek His face. As we stand before His throne in worship our hearts are touched and softened and our eyes are open to see. In His presence our ears are open to hear His voice. In this place of His presence our lives are transformed as we encounter the one true living God.

"Worship is a deliberate, steady, focused time with God. Worship anticipates not only an encounter with God, but also a clear next word from God. Worship is totally God centered! God focused! Out of worship comes a cleared and more focused relationship of faith and obedience with God. Worship is God's way of developing character and directing the life into the center of His will. Abram was supremely a worshiper, and his life is a testimony of this fact. The ultimate outcome of consistent worship is a life totally yielded to God, on God's terms." ~ Henry Blackaby, Created to be God's Friend

We believe the day is coming when worshipers all over the Washington DC region will meet 7 days a week 24 hours a day like they do in David's Tent to seek His face and worship the Lord as He rebuilds the Tabernacle of David with continuous worship. God is searching for worshipers. Let us be among those He is looking for as we enter into worship. Let us enthrone Him on our praises. Our focus is on the Lord Himself. Our desire is that He will come and be a part of this gathering. We long for His manifest presence. We expect the Lord will be attracted to this place and we will experience His presence.

We expect that as we touch His heart our hearts will be full of intercession. We believe that He will give us words to speak and pray as we enter into intercession for the city, the nation and the world. As we seek His face in worship, our prayers also ascend to Him. We believe these worship gatherings are instrumental in breaking the power of spiritual principalities, and demonic strongholds as we seek His face and intercede on behalf of the city, region, and the nations.
